CHURCH LADS’ BRIGADE AT SHEFFIELD PARK

By the kindness of the Earl of Sheffield, the Church Lads’; Brigades of Brighton, East Grinstead, Burgess Hill, etc., numbering in all 250, visited Sheffield Park on Monday.

The lads arriving at Sheffield Park station at 8.45 a.m., marched to the Park, where manoeuvres were carried out throughout the day. At 3.45 p.m. they marched to the Fletching National Schools, where a substantial tea was provided by Mr. W. S. Martin.

After tea, the boys marched gaily through the Park, to the strains of the band, after a most enjoyable and happy day.

UCKFIELD COMMENTS

An engagement of considerable interest in the district has recently been announced. The Vicar of Fletching (the Rev. R. W. B. Cox) has become engaged to Miss Una Robinson, daughter of Mr. J. C. Robinson, of Oakleigh Warren, Newick.

Mr. Cox has been Vicar of Fletching since last September, and previously was at Sunninghill, Berkshire. Miss Robinson is a member of a well-known Sussex family, her father, in addition to other interests, being one of the most prominent agriculturists in the county.

It is expected that the wedding will take place in September.
