Stone Carving Workshop at Black Shed Studios, Nursery Lane, Fairwarp
Two days to create a stone sculpture. All tools tuition and a piece of Zimbabwean stone approx, 10kg included. You will get help to complete a piece by the end of the course - incl. sanding and polishing of your sculpture if required.
Two tutors are Brett Banks and Claude A Lester, both are experienced sculptors taught originally by Zimbabwean Shona artists. Brett holds regular workshops in London and works in both stone and wood. Claude was a tutor at CSM and has subsequently become a full time sculptor working in stone, wood and mixed media.
Bring your own lunch or if local pop home.
Cost £200 which includes the stone.

The walk will start at the Sports Club car park by the A272. We will cross Memorial and Pound commons where they have previously bee seen and heard.
We will finish in the dar, so torches are essential, good footwear needed for the damp ground.
